I was born in Rome New York. My father was born in Giogia del Colle Italy. His name was Angelo, and here came to NY ciyty alone at age 19.
My mother’s father was born in Foggia, During the war, the Allies built a large air base there.
As a boy, I loved animals and all things mechanical. I had many pets, from dogs and cats to reptiles, birds etc.
At a young age, I tried to make my mini bikes and go carts go faster, and there was the seed for my love the automotive world, racing, and modifying older vehicles, trucks being my favorite, though I have owned many sports cars [fast[, something about old military vehicles grabbed me at a young age.
Here is a photo of me with a 1954 model C1, Dodge Power Wagon that I restored. The early Dodge Power Wagons, were civilian models of the Dodge WW 2 vehicles.
I have owned a dozen or Dodge Power Wagons. I say ‘or so’ as some were parts vehicle with no titles.
This photo was taken in the East Everglades about 1975. The area has since been developed.
